The Network Analyst – Senior position requires the ability to provide positive individual contributions in the implementation, operations and support of enterprise security solutions in a global, multi-datacenter environment.

Responsabilities:

The engineer is responsible for network design for products for external customers as part of a team. This includes the physical and logical design of the network components in a multi-tenant data center. These components include (but are not limited to) heavy IP design, switching, routing load-balancing and route selection systems as well as establishing network fail-over capabilities between components. This includes both in-house and telecommunication provided capabilities.  Knowledgeable with NAT schemes is a must. The engineer must provide detailed schematics of their design and work with other engineers to provide an overall topology.

Responsible for making technology decisions as they relate to the overall network architecture and associated technologies. This includes (but is not limited to) the IP design & possibly creating schemes to resolve IP & route conflicts, switching, routing protocols, load-balancing and route selection technologies that may include VRF and policy-based routing, policy-based load-balancinmae g, etc.

The applicant must be able to work with and lead a team of engineers as well as work with other teams such as system architects, system administrators and hardware support groups.

Responsible for making solid design recommendations on subjects that include redundancy, diversity, failover technologies and expandability as it relates to the network architecture, as well as providing direction and recommendations concerning touch-points. This may also include establishing test criteria and validating the technology and/or product. Once technology selections have been mode, the engineer is responsible to testing, deployment as well as training operations personnel as part of a turn-over.

All designs, technology selections, etc. must be properly documented by the engineer with the help from a technical writer.

Position will require some travel. Some work by the team is required to be performed during our established Sunday morning maintenance window.

Note: Permanent positions will also require the engineer to work into the on-call rotation with approximately 6 other engineers. The engineer will receive compensation for being on call.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Risk Management.
  • 5+ years of experience in network Engineering.
  • Prior experience with network security & related applications, tools and solutions.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a large complex network environment.
  • Deep understanding of network routing and switching architecture, design and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting 24x7x365 high availability solutions in large complex data center environments.
  • Technical product training and certifications, network hardware and application security training and/or certifications.

Job Related Experience:

  • 6-8 years of experience in a similar network support or engineering role.
  • Excellent commendation skills, well spoken, ability to deal with clients and managers at various levels, work with engineers & vendors.
  • Must be outgoing, self-starter and be able to resolve complex issues with limited supervision or direction.
  • CCNA required.
  • Proficiency in Cisco routers and switches, Microsoft Office Applications and Visio Diagramming.
  • Excellent oral, written, analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical employees.
  • Must be able to work as a team member in a technical project environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to think “outside the box.”
  • Experience defining and creating process and procedure documentation preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN technology and protocols including but not limited to BGP, EIGRP, HTTP, FTP, TCP, and Spanning Tree.

Additional Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience configuring and independent troubleshooting of Cisco Switches and Routers.
  • Experience with troubleshooting WAN and LAN connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of BGP& EIGRP is necessary.
  • Knowledge of load balancing concepts is required. Specific knowledge of Brocade and Cisco Load Balancing products is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Checkpoint & Juniper Firewalls is a plus.
  • Familiarity and/or comfortability with Linux/Unix commands (required).
  • Crossbeam experience preferred.
  • Palo Alto /Panorama experience preferred.
  • VMWare NSX experience preferred.
  • Scripting – Bash or Python preferred.
  • VPN troubleshooting preferred.
  • Imperva Database, Web Application firewall and XML firewall exposure.
  • ArcSight exposure.
  • Splunk exposure.
  • Strong understanding of OSI layers 2, 3, & 4.
  • SSL Certificate experience.
  • Proxy / Threat Management Gateway experience

Must have:

2 or more years of relevant technical experience. Need excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Needs strong ability to multi-task and work effectively in a distributed and matrix-oriented environment. At least 2 years of experience working in a progressive information security operations or engineering group. Need exceptional planning, organization, communication, multi-tasking, prioritization and business analysis skills. The ability to work independently; in addition to working closely in a team environment.
